If you’re looking for simple and cheap, but need a bit of class to seal the deal, you should look no further than these white chocolate and blueberry possets.bakingThis is a very easy, but ultimately classy looking, dessert, and the best part is it only costs about 68p a posset.

It does have to be made in advance but it only takes around 10 minutes from adding the cream to the pan to putting the finished posset into
the fridge!

The hardest part is waiting for it to set, and with only 4 common ingredients, it’s likely you’ll have most of them already!

We got the blueberries from the garden but you can use different fruit, and even change the chocolate if you wish. If you’re looking for free fruit, now’s a great time to go blackberry picking.

Ingredients

To make three of these yummy creations you’ll need all of these cool stuff:

  • 300ml Double Cream (85p)
  • 4tbsp Castor Sugar (20p)
  • 100g White Cooking Chocolate (£1)
  • 4 small handfuls of blueberries or other fruit (free)

Total Cost = £2.05

Method

  1. Boil it all up

meltFirst, add the cream and sugar to a pan and bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Once it has reached boiling point, boil for a minute then remove from the heat.

Add the chocolate and half of the berries and stir until you can’t find any lumps of chocolate.

  2. Let it all set

finishedPour the mixture into the glasses, divide the remaining berries between the glasses and scattering them into each glass so it rests on top of the mixture.

Place the glasses into the fridge for a least 2 hours until it has set.

And there you have it! Delicious, easy and great to impress the parents or flat mates. Send us your pictures of how they turn out!
