Despite the name, Scottish Power supply both gas and electricity to the majority of the UK.

They are one of the most affordable and reputable companies on the market. They've been around since 1990.

What do they offer?

Scottish Power are one of the few energy companies that allow you to fix your prices for around 2 years. Every year the gas and electricity prices seem to shoot up so it's well worth protecting yourself against this.

There's usually also no nasty cancellation fees to contend with, which you sometimes get when fixing your tariff.

Unfortunately there is no student discount on offer from Scottish Power but this is not uncommon in the energy sector.
