Eligibility criteria and T&Cs apply.
You must not have previously received a student bank account incentive from Nationwide or already hold a Nationwide student account.
You can only apply if you have an unconditional offer or confirmed place starting within the next five months or less, or at least six months remaining on your course. You must also be aged 18 or over, be a UK resident who has lived in the UK for at least three years, and be studying or starting a full-time UCAS course lasting at least two years.
You also can’t have another student bank account, unless you switch to Nationwide’s. Switching is simple with the Current Account Switch Service.
The arranged overdraft is intended for short-term borrowing. When you apply for FlexStudent, you can ask for an arranged overdraft and set a limit. You can borrow up to £1,000 in your first year, £2,000 in your second year and £3,000 in your third year. Your limit will stay at £3,000 if your course is longer than 3 years.
To be able to increase your limit in your second and third years you need to have paid in at least £500 per term or at least £1,500 in two or more payments over the previous year.
You must stay within your arranged overdraft limit. If you try to go beyond it, you won’t be able to make payments or withdraw cash until you’re back within your limit. Unarranged overdrafts are borrowing not agreed with us in advance and may negatively impact your credit score.
The £100 cash will be paid within 14 days of depositing £500 into the account and making five eligible debit card payments, all by 11 December 2026. Some restrictions apply.
You’ll also receive instructions within 14 days of depositing £500 into the account and making five eligible debit card payments on how to claim your monthly £10 Just Eat voucher. You must keep your Nationwide account open to receive all vouchers.
You’ll have 30 days from the date of the email with the instructions to access and register on the voucher portal. If you don’t, you won’t be able to claim any vouchers.
