Sandyford is just a short walk from the city centre, and Heaton is just five minutes further out. Both are popular with students and have a good selection of bars and shops nearby.

Jesmond is a slightly more upmarket student area, and has a number of high-end boutiques as well as the typical cheap eateries and happy hour bars.

Newcastle is served by an excellent public transport system, which includes Metro trains and buses. All student areas are easily accessible from the city centre, both on foot and on the transport system.
