Well, this all depends on whether you want to break the law or not. Technically, you are only allowed to have one student bank account. However, I knew of students at University that had two student bank accounts and therefore two overdrafts.
The problem is that the banks ask you to deposit a certain amount into your bank every 3-6months (your student maintenance loan) in order for you to be eligible for the 0% overdraft. If you have two banks then you will have to find an alternative way to make money in order to deposit it in the other bank.
So how many student bank accounts can you have? Well… the answer is as many as you like, but there is no real benefit.
